LAMBUENA

Based in the town of Roa, within the Burgos district of the Ribera del Duero D.O., Lambuena farms roughly 30 hectares of vines, predominantly Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) with a little bit of Merlot as well. They work organically, only spraying Bordeaux mixture as needed. Given their prime vineyards on the north bank of the Duero river, featuring a variety of soil types including chalky clay, sandy and gravelly parcels, the Cabastrero's have plenty of great material to use for blending. These are classic Ribera del Duero wines, structured, mineral, full of dark fruit and yet not too heavy; the crianzas and reservas in particular should age very well.
