Also in the Valdobbiadene, San Venanzio is a rather new producer of prosecco, owned by Gabriele and Monica. He was a computer salesmen, but thought making prosecco would be fun so they took out a few loans and bought a property in the Veneto. The couple originally started by making sweeter wines, but have moved towards a more dry style ever since. A larger estate, San Venanzio also purchase grapes from other growers in the region, as there are so many tiny parcels owned by so many different growers in the Valdobbiadene that it's almost impossible to expand otherwise. The wine is clean and fresh but with good weight and palate presence with pure fruit.
