Albert Morot is a family-run operation that has been in Beaune since 1820. It’s now in the hands of Geoffry Choppin de Janvry, who has updated the winery and converted to organic farming. They have sites in seven premier cru vineyards on the slopes above the city of Beaune—Les Teurons, Les Gréves, Les Toussaints, Les Bressandes, Les Cent Vignes, Les Marconnets and La Bataillére, plus several in Pommard and Savigny-Les-Beaunes. Their wines show great complexity and power and provide something of a benchmark for Beaune.
