Bruno Michel is a crazy man who absolutely loves to work to work in his vineyards, all of which are entirely organic and estate-owned. He is so fanatical about his vines that doesn’t own a single planting purchased from a commercial nursery. All of his vines are massale selections that he either inherited or planted himself (massale is the process where the vigneron goes into the vineyard and takes a cutting from the best and healthiest vines and then graphs that to new rootstock). Michel truly has a green thumb, and his old school practices both in the vineyard and in the cellar result in one of the most dynamic Champagnes we carry. He believes in using old wood to age his wines, rather than stainless steel or new oak, resulting in a milder, creamy style of wine. Bruno Michel is also a Demeter and Ecocert certified organic grower.
