Carrick is in Bannockburn, the sub-region at the heart of Central Otago where the schist and the dry, sunny climate give Pinot Noir its deepest fruit. The vineyards are farmed biodynamically and certified so.
The Pinot Noir is fresh and tightly bound in youth — dark-red and black cherries, dark herbs and violet florals, medium to full-bodied with bright, juicy flavour — and the Chardonnay and Riesling are among the South Island's most serious.
