Damien Hugot
Grand cru Blanc de Blancs from Cramant, fermented in big oak casks and built on solera reserves — the Champagne we open as the aperitif at K&L.
Damien Hugot farms in Cramant, one of the grand cru villages of the Côte des Blancs where Chardonnay reaches its most chalky, mineral expression. The house style comes from large oak cask fermentation and reserves aged in a solera, which give the wines a golden colour and a bakery richness without losing the freshness and life on the finish.
We import the Grand Cru Brut Blanc de Blancs, a vintage Cramant Blanc de Blancs and an Extra Brut rosé. Candied nuts and stone fruit, compact bubbles and a great deal of vitality: Gary Westby drinks the Brut as his aperitif, and so do a lot of our customers.
