Domaine Chante Cigale

Domaine Chante Cigale is a family estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape whose red is the textbook blend: 65 per cent Grenache, 20 Syrah, 10 Mourvèdre, 5 Cinsault. Supple, creamy tannins, raspberry and cherry fruit, and a dusting of cinnamon and allspice on a long, dusty finish — the 2015 earned 94 points from The Wine Advocate in a blind tasting.

There is a white Châteauneuf as well, and a Vieilles Vignes cuvée. We have imported it for decades, which keeps the price where Châteauneuf used to be.
