Domaine du Petit Clocher is the Denis family's estate in Anjou, in the Layon valley south of Angers. The Anjou Rouge and Blanc are the everyday wines; the Coteaux du Layon Les Perrières is the one people remember — the appellation is dedicated to sweet Chenin Blanc, rich and mouth-filling from the residual sugar but with a zippy, tingly acidity.
A staff member who loves off-dry Riesling called it a new crush. Fair warning.
