Domaine Durieu is a family estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The Lucile Avril cuvée is its statement: 90 per cent Grenache aged in tank with Mourvèdre and Syrah from small barrels, fermented with 100 per cent stems and bottled without filtration — dense purple, flamboyant and exotic, the 2010 a 94-point magnificent wine for Parker.
The straight Châteauneuf-du-Pape is the one for everyday, if Châteauneuf can be everyday.
