Patrice Colin

Both Pineau d'Aunis and Patrice Colin hail from the Coteaux du Vendômois, an appellation north of Touraine and Vouvray on a Loire tributary called, confusingly, the Loir. It was formally recognised only in 2001 but has made wine since the 11th century, and part of its mystique is its size: thirteen private producers in all.

Pierre François, named for Patrice's son, is the red; the rosé is the same peppery grape pressed pale.
