Foss Marai
A family house in Guia, the village at the centre of Valdobbiadene, with a range that runs from an Ultrabrut to the Cartizze, Prosecco's one grand cru.
Foss Marai is based in Guia, a hamlet in the Valdobbiadene hills, and makes nothing but sparkling wine. The family's vineyards sit in the historic core of the DOCG, including a parcel on the Cartizze hill — the 107-hectare slope that Prosecco treats as its single grand cru.
The range lets you taste the appellation from dry to generous: the "Ultrabrut" and the single-vintage "Guia" Millesimato Brut are mineral and citrus-driven; "Strada di Guia" Extra Dry balances freshness with a creamy, persistent mousse; and the Cartizze Dry is the velvet one — golden apple, ripe peach, honeysuckle and toasted almond, the Prosecco for an occasion.
