Fromm

Fromm was founded in Marlborough in 1992 by Swiss emigrés Georg and Ruth Fromm, who thought the region could do more than Sauvignon Blanc, and winemaker Hätsch Kalberer has been proving it ever since: Pinot Noir from the Fromm Vineyard, a cool-climate Syrah, and Rieslings in every style from dry to a Spätlese with a phenomenal acid-to-sugar balance reminiscent of the Mosel.

The dry Marlborough summers keep botrytis at bay, so the sweet wines never turn syrupy; the cool nights keep the acidity bright. We have carried vintages back to 2005.
