Nicolas Haeni kept the Séguret vineyard when his family sold Domaine de Cabasse — and built Malmont around it.
Domaine de Cabasse was a highly regarded producer with vineyards in Sablet, Gigondas and Séguret. When the family decided to sell in 2012, one member didn't want to see it go: Nicolas Haeni scraped together enough to buy just the Séguret vineyard and made it the focus of his new project, Malmont.
The Côtes du Rhône-Villages Séguret is the main wine, with a Petit Rouge for drinking young.
