The Excellent 2019 Vintage in Sancerre
Sancerre is an easy wine to love—it’s one of my absolute favorite expressions of Sauvignon Blanc, where all the various hard edges that the grape can display get tucked into harmony, and a sublime balance occurs. The thing is, it certainly can be pricy…but the beauty of our Direct Import program is that we have some absolutely stellar, affordable wines from Sancerre that all clock in between $20-$25 bucks. In the below video, Loire Buyer Keith Mabry introduces our readers to four of his favorite Direct Import producers from the region and gives us some insight into a vintage that was nearly lost to frost, but ultimately came out as a great success.
