2024 Château Vitallis: The Best Value in White Burgundy?

K&L Burgundy Buyer Alex Pross with a bottle of Château Vitallis.

2024 Château Vitallis: Burgundy's Greatest White Wine Value?

The 2024 Château Vitallis lineup is the best value in white Burgundy today: six wines priced from $19.99 to $39.99, every Pouilly-Fuissé bottling rated 90+ points by Decanter, and a 1er Cru that took Best in Show at the 2026 Decanter World Wine Awards—for $39.99.

Château Vitallis has been one of K&L's longest-running direct-import producers from Burgundy, and more specifically the Mâconnais, the value heartland at the southern end of the region. Easily one of our most value-driven properties, Château Vitallis is on a seemingly linear path of improvement, where each vintage seems to be a little better than the previous one regardless of vintage conditions. The 2024s are easily the best set of wines I have ever tasted from this domaine—and I am not alone in that opinion. Decanter recently rated all four of their Pouilly-Fuissés at 90 points or higher, with the two 1er Cru offerings garnering 95 and 97 points respectively. To call these amazing values is an understatement.

Why is the 2024 white Burgundy vintage so good?

2024 is one of the best white Burgundy vintages this century—a year of precision, purity, and vibrant acidity that plays directly to the strengths of the Mâconnais. While Côte de Beaune whites from producers like Sauzet and Hubert Lamy command three-figure prices, the Mâconnais delivers the same vintage quality at a fraction of the cost, and no estate proves it better than Château Vitallis.

The 2024 Château Vitallis Range

2024 Château Vitallis Mâcon-Fuissé $19.99 The fruit here is ample and beautiful, with classic aromas of stone fruit and spice. The precision and generous fruit that unfolds layer after layer make this a great daily drinker and an undeniable value — the perfect introduction to the estate.

2024 Château Vitallis St-Véran "À La Côte" $24.99 St-Véran as an appellation may soon garner 1er Cru vineyard status, and it shows in the consistently high quality of wines emerging from the region. Floral and spice notes abound; pure fruit with gorgeous acidity and energy make this a great step up from the Mâcon-Fuissé.

2024 Château Vitallis Pouilly-Fuissé "Les Vignes du Château" $29.99 90DC Sourced from the vines surrounding the property, this is what great Pouilly-Fuissé should be! Perfectly delineated fruit, great spice notes, and racy acidity and vibrant energy flow seamlessly through this beautifully fruited wine. A great introduction to the fabulous quality of Pouilly-Fuissé from Château Vitallis.

2024 Château Vitallis Pouilly-Fuissé Vieilles Vignes $32.99 91DC | Silver Medal, 2026 Decanter World Wine Awards The Vieilles Vignes—old vines—always brings a bit more depth, power, and richly structured fruit, with the first note of oak found in any of the Château Vitallis offerings. Stone and orchard fruit notes are ever-present, with spice buffered by racy acidity and vibrant fruit flavors.

2024 Château Vitallis Pouilly-Fuissé 1er Cru "Les Perrières" $39.99 95DC | Gold Medal, 2026 Decanter World Wine Awards Wow! This really turns it up a few notches! If you've been disappointed that 1er Cru white Burgundy has been priced out of your reach, this wine should restore your faith in humanity. There's beautifully delineated fruit that feels precise and pure, framed by racy acidity and fantastic energy. For under $40, this is an outrageous bargain.

2024 Château Vitallis Pouilly-Fuissé 1er Cru "Pouilly" $39.99 97DC | Best in Show, 2026 Decanter World Wine Awards This is my favorite wine of the Château Vitallis range, with a purity of fruit, precision, complexity, and depth rarely found in a white Burgundy at this price. 2024 is one of the best white Burgundy vintages this century, and it is readily apparent in this stunning value.
