Unparalleled Value in Chablis from Domaine Seguinot-Bordet

With a history that dates back to 1590, Domaine Seguinot-Bordet’s roots in Chablis run incredibly deep. Jean-François Bordet oversees the day-to-day operations at their 16 hectare estate. The 2022 vintage in Chablis was much like the rest of Burgundy, it was one of the hottest vintages in recent memory. Yet, with few hiccups after May it, was a relatively easy growing season that resulted in a much larger crop than 2021 or even hot vintages like 2020, 2019, and 2018.

The 2022 Domaine Seguinot Bordet Petit Chablis $23.99 91DC comes from vines 25-35 years old and is aged in 100% stainless steel. Fresh, bright and vibrant, the wine explodes with lemon verbena notes with hints of iodine and wet stone. A great example of how Petit Chablis can be a great source of value Chablis.

A step up in price and complexity the 2022 Domaine Seguinot Bordet Chablis Vieilles Vignes $29.99 90BH, coming from 85-100 year-old vines that give the wine a powerful and expansive feel with tons of citrus and wet stone notes. A wine that fans out on the palate to reveal additional complexity and character.

Easily one of my favorite wines from Seguonot Bordet is the 2022 Domaine Seguinot Bordet Chablis 1er Cru “Fourchaume” $39.99 93DC 92VN 90-93BH, with an ideal exposure and vines aged 45-60 years old. The “Fourchaume” gains power and intensity from a bright, racy beginning to a long, full finish with citrus and iodine notes throughout this is a fantastic 1er Cru value!

Last but not least the 2022 Domaine Seguinot Bordet Chablis 1er Cru “Vaillons” $39.99 90-93BH is a cool and fresh wine with notes of poached citrus and flint. An incredibly well balanced wine that feels light and energetic with a classic feel.

The set of 2022 Chablis’ from Seguinot Bordet are not to be missed.
