Coming Soon: More from Maison 76!

With the success of our Maison 76 Côte des Blancs Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Champagne $44.99, which is in stock now, I spent some time on my last trip to Champagne bolstering our selection in this range. If any of the following interest you, I would suggest putting yourself on the waiting list now by following the links. We have good quantity coming on all of them, but last year our first batch of the Maison 76 was the fastest-selling Champagne we have ever had!

I wanted some of the best Crus of the region and examples from some of the best growers—and coming this fall we have two from top and bottom of the Montagne de Reims. The Maison 76 Bouzy Grand Cru Brut Champagne $54.99 is a long-aged non-vintage, based on the 2018 harvest, from arguably the biggest name in the village of Bouzy. We have to keep it a secret, but this blend of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay will blow your mind at the price. It is barrel fermented and bottled late after 10 months in mostly older barrique, and dosed very low, just around 2 grams per liter. They have a four-year younger version in national distribution at a much higher price. From the north-facing slope of the Montage de Reims we will be getting the Maison 76 Verzy Grand Cru Brut Champagne $39.99, made by the Lallement family. Composed of 64% Pinot Noir and 36% Chardonnay, this has been fermented in stainless steel and aged for three years on the lees. I love the signature hazelnut bread nose, the fine texture and hint of Vosne-Romanée savor on the chalky finish. You won’t believe that you got this for under $40!

The last to arrive this fall will be the 2014 Maison 76 Late Disgorged Vintage Champagne $49.99. When we say late disgorged- we mean it—it was just done this July! This one-third each Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Meunier from the village of Brouillet, made by the Ariston family at Champagne Aspasie. With lovely baguette toast, a creamy texture, wonderful grace notes and a long, airy, chalky finish, this is a knockout vintage Champagne at a very fair price.

A toast to you!
