Open Cellar: A New Way to Taste at K&L
Have you ever wondered what a bottle of 2003 Lafite Rothschild, Pauillac $1049.99 100WA 98JS 97WE 96WS tastes like? At nearly $1,100 per bottle, only a fortunate few have the means to purchase a First Growth Bordeaux—let alone a perfectly stored, 22-year-old bottle. But at K&L, we believe wine is for everyone; it’s meant to be enjoyed, explored, and shared. That’s why we created a new way for you to experience the world of wine in our stores—through the lens of our new automated WineEmotion machines. This new program features 16 rotating selections available by the 1- or 2-ounce pour, all priced to make the world of high-end, collectible wines accessible to all.
But the program isn’t just about tasting high-profile wines such as 2012 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (Winery Direct Library Release) $349.95 100VN 99JD 99TWI 98DC 98JS 98WA or a beautifully aged Barolo from a top producer like the 2004 Luciano Sandrone "Cannubi Boschis" Barolo $249.99 98WA 98VN 95ST 95WS—both currently in our lineup. Whether you're searching for your new favorite summer Sauvignon Blanc (currently on tap: 2022 Nicolas Millet "Le Chene Marchand" Sancerre $34.99) or the perfect bottle of Cabernet (we’ve got 2019 Dyer "Dyer Vineyard" Diamond Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon $79.95 96WA 99VN queued up for you) to pair with dinner, Open Cellar lets you taste before you buy. Our knowledgeable sales staff is always on hand to recommend wines based on your preferences. The process is simple: check in with our staff at the registers, and they'll activate a tasting card that tracks your selections. When you're done, you can easily close out on your phone, at the registers, or just head home—your tab will automatically close at the end of the evening. Run out of wines to try? No problem. Every two weeks, we rotate in eight fresh selections for your tasting pleasure.
The only thing we at K&L love more than helping our customers select the perfect bottle is popping those bottles open—and now we get to do both. We couldn’t be more excited to open this program, and our cellar, to you, our valued customer. We hope you have as much fun tasting these wines as we do selecting them. And don’t worry, our cellars run deep and are filled with incredible bottles. We can’t wait to share them with you.
