Let Our Somm Services Team Guide You Through an Evening in Tuscany

Last year, we launched our Sommelier Services program with the goal of bringing our passion for wine and spirits directly to your events. We love crafting unique programs that fit your needs; we don’t approach anything with a one-size-fits-all attitude. Our sommeliers lead tastings that are thoughtfully designed to meet guests where they are, whether you want to get deeply geeky about soils or just order expertly from a wine list at a restaurant. With our Italian Newsletter launching yesterday, we’ve got Italy on the brain. There’s nothing quite like Italian wine for its harmony with food, but with 550 registered grapes in Italy, it can be a bit of a puzzle. That’s where our somms come in!

Take Tuscany, for example. If you’re a Tuscan wine lover, we can design an event that uses the region as a lens to explore both the long tradition of Sangiovese and how different clones and different microclimates create wildly different wines. We can help deepen your guests’ understanding and make the region’s wines feel more tangible, rather than abstract or theoretical.

Sound intriguing? Contact our Somm Services team to take a sommelier-led tour through Tuscany. You can build a custom flight starting with Brunello di Montalcino, where the grape shows its most structured and age-worthy side, then move through Rosso di Montalcino and the different sub-appellations of Chianti to highlight how shifts in soil, winemaking, and aging shape the final wine. Taste as a group while a sommelier leads the experience in a way that is fun and educational but entirely tailored to the group’s level of interest. The goal is to make the wine more approachable, whether that means recognizing key characteristics, getting more comfortable talking about what you are tasting, or simply having a better sense of what to reach for when you are choosing a bottle. Cheese and charcuterie can be part of the experience as well, giving you a chance to see how the wines change with food and adding another layer to the conversation.

These tastings can be set up at home with a group of friends, in an office for a team or client event, or hosted in one of our California stores. They can also be tailored to fit a wide range of budgets, from simple, introductory lineups to deeper dives featuring some of the top wines in the world. We handle the glassware, wine selection, and overall flow of the tasting, while the sommelier leads the experience and keeps things engaging and on track.
