Robert Perroud
Brouilly and Côte de Brouilly, including a Vieilles Vignes from seventy-year-old vines called Pollen and a Côte de Brouilly aged in Foudre No. 5.
Domaine Robert Perroud sits on the slopes of Mont Brouilly, with vineyards in both Brouilly and the steeper, more serious Côte de Brouilly. The Vieilles Vignes Pollen comes from a parcel of seventy-year-old vines — blueberry and blackberry tinged with Ceylon tea, cedar and cinnamon, in Parker's words, with satisfying juiciness and fine tannins.
Côte de Brouilly Foudre No. 5 is named for the large cask it is raised in; Amethyste is the estate's Brouilly.
