Thunevin-Calvet is the Roussillon venture of Jean-Luc Thunevin, the Saint-Émilion garagiste behind Valandraud, and the Maury grower Jean-Roger Calvet. The dry reds — Cuvée Constance and L'Amourette, Côtes du Roussillon-Villages — are Grenache and Carignan from black schist.
The vins doux naturels are the curiosity: Grenache fortified to arrest fermentation, then aged in clear glass demi-johns in the open air for decades. Think of a port that survived Marine Corps hell week, but French; we have had vintages back to 1984.
