When you have a master's degree in oenology you are a trained artist and a mad scientist; Jérôme Trudon has one of those and twelve years at Louis Roederer to boot. He now makes his own Champagne from the family's Meunier-dominant vineyards in the Marne valley.
The cuvées are Monochrome and Emblematis, plus a vintage Meunier-led wine in years that reward it — 2016 was a typical modern year of frost, rain and heat, and it showed his skill on both sides of the aisle.
