Vigneti Repetto

Timorasso and Barbera from the Colli Tortonesi, the hills east of the Langhe that have become Piedmont's most exciting white-wine country.

The Colli Tortonesi, around the town of Tortona in south-eastern Piedmont, were for a long time the Langhe's quiet neighbour. Timorasso changed that: a native white grape rescued from near extinction, it makes wines of real weight and mineral grip that age like white Burgundy. Vigneti Repetto is one of the family estates that made the rescue work.

We import the "Quadro" Derthona Timorasso — stone fruit, salt, a slow-opening perfume — and two Barberas: "Sfera", round and crunchy and unbroken by heavy oak, and the single-vineyard "Evoluta" from Monleale, a Barbera with the structure to hold for years.
