Located in the upper reaches of the high western side of Montalcino, Villa Poggio Salvi is a producer we started with the 2010 vintage. Their vineyards slope to the southwest and the wines have a leathery, earthy, old school feel with grip. They are very traditional. The estate is currently run by Luca Belingardi. All aging is done in large oak barrels and they make about 6,000 cases of Brunello per year.
