A consulting oenologist turned producer, famous for blending — and for library Châteauneufs from 1991, 1998 and 1999 bottled late.
Xavier Vignon spent years as one of the Rhône's most sought-after consulting oenologists before building his own label in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. He is a blender by instinct and a little coy about his sources, and he keeps old wine in reserve: when Keith visited, Xavier had just bottled library Châteauneufs from 1991, 1998 and 1999.
Those special releases come through K&L alongside his current Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Côtes-du-Rhône.
