The 2025 Bordeaux vintage was shaped by a hot, dry summer—the third hottest in 30 years—followed by crucial late-season rains in late August that preserved acidity and freshness. The result is a paradoxical vintage: concentrated and structured like 2022, but with the freshness and classical balance of 2016. Yields are significantly down across most appellations, meaning supply is limited. Critics including Decanter, Wine Advocate, and The Drinks Business have called it one of the most exciting vintages in years.
The 2025 Bordeaux campaign is the one I've been waiting to write about. After a few uneven years, the alignment is finally here—a vintage defined by low yields, moderate alcohol, and wines that express genuine terroir, offered at pricing that aligns with the low marks of 2024, for a much better vintage.
Malescot-St-Exupéry is $49.99. Same price as the 2015—which became one of our best-ever sellers. Pontet-Canet earned 98–100 from Wine Advocate. Laroque is $31.99 with a 96 from Decanter.
