Sippin’ with Staff: The Keith Takeover/Languedoc Edition
French Regional Buyer Keith Mabry took over our Instagram Live show on Wednesday, and introduced the (virtual) world to some of his favorites from Languedoc-Roussillon, a wide swath of land in southern France that produces the very best value wines in the country (so sayeth Keith, Jancis Robinson, and myriad other critics). It’s an eclectic collection of AOCs, with varied soils and varied terrain, but a generally warm, Mediterranean climate that produces happy, ripe grapes. It also tends to be a land dominated by small, family farmers and cooperatives, without the financial luxury of expensive technology, so the wines are often farmed organically and made by hand without a lot of oak influence. You get pure, cheerful fruit flavors at a very resonable price. Here’s Keith’s episode and a list of the wines he mentioned below. Cheers!
