Meet a Wine Legend: Jancis Robinson Is Coming to K&L in March

K&L is thrilled to welcome the distinguished wine legend, Jancis Robinson, MW OBE, for a once-in-a-lifetime event series in San Francisco in March 2024. With nearly five decades of industry leadership, Jancis has much to celebrate, including her recent accolade as the recipient of the 2024 Institute of Masters of Wine (IMW) Lifetime Achievement Award. As a prolific author and one of the world's leading wine experts, Jancis's extensive knowledge and tasting experience are unparalleled. We are huge fans, and cannot wait for this unique series of events, which are perfect for both seasoned wine professionals and those eager to learn more about the world of wine.

Friday March 29: Seminar & Tasting with Jancis Robinson: The Future of Wine

Jancis and K&L will host a thought-provoking seminar on one of the most pertinent topics—The Future of Wine. Jancis will discuss the impacts of climate change, artificial intelligence, and the evolution of the wine landscape. As one of the world’s foremost wine educators and writers, Jancis is ideally placed to help us reflect on the past to understand the future. Attendees are invited to a Champagne reception where they can connect with Jancis and fellow wine lovers and enjoy small bites. All ticket holders will receive a signed copy of The World Atlas of Wine, 8th edition, and a 2-Pack of The Wine Glass, Jancis’s personally designed universal glassware made in collaboration with Richard Brendon in London.

For the bibliophiles, K&L and Jancis will host a book signing at the San Francisco store to celebrate Jancis’ most recent publications, including The World Atlas of Wine, 8th Edition, and The Oxford Companion to Wine, 5th Edition. This is an opportunity to meet Jancis, get a book signed, and savor a casual wine tasting of four wines hand selected by Jancis. All ticket holders will receive a copy of The World Atlas of Wine, 8th Edition, with the option to purchase additional copies of both The World Atlas and The Oxford Companion to Wine, 5th Edition. Optional ticket price upgrade includes a 2- or 6-pack of The Wine Glass, Jancis’s personally designed universal glassware made in collaboration with Richard Brendon in London.

For the truly inquisitive, Jancis and K&L will host an intimate seated dinner in Piccino’s private dining space in San Francisco. Wines chosen by Jancis and K&L will accompany a delectable meal. This is a unique opportunity to enjoy fine food and drink alongside one of the world’s top wine professionals. Guests will enjoy a four courses with wines paired by Jancis, hosted at local favorite restaurant, Piccino. In addition to a once-in-a-lifetime dinner, attendees will receive a 2-pack of The Wine Glass, Jancis’s personally designed universal glassware made in collaboration with Richard Brendon in London, as well as a copy of World Atlas of Wine. We will certainly have many questions for Jancis in a more personal setting, but hopefully, we can learn a bit more about off-book topics like her consultations on the Queen’s cellar!
