Premiere Napa Valley and a First Look at the 2022 Whites

Chelsea Herholdt, K&L Key Accounts Specialist

The 28th annual Premiere Napa Valley (PNV) celebrated Northern California's finest wines last week. Remarkably different from Bordeaux's 'En Primeur', PNV mingles vintage previews with an auction to fund the Napa Valley Vintners Association's initiatives. The 2024 event primarily focused on the unique 2022 vintage, dubbed "The Tale of Two Harvests" due to a record-breaking heatwave which affected the grapes. Despite differing opinions on the quality, 2022 promises excellent white wines and potentially underestimated reds, providing collectors with an exciting opportunity to secure unique wines at reasonable prices. We also had a chance to check in on some of the top reds from the epic 2021 vintage, with several of our highlights featured below. Read more.

Overperforming Collectibles in Every Price Tier

Ryan Moses, K&L Key Accounts Manager

Like most wine collectors, I'm always on the hunt for wines that outpace their price points, both for K&L and for my own personal collection. Fortunately, the wine world offers nearly endless opportunities if you know where to look. From cellar-centerpiece blue chips like Château Canon and Montrose to value stunner like Phélan-Ségur, Bordeaux is always a fertile hunting ground. Piedmont is ground zero in Italy for collectible value, while Burgundy icon Louis Jadot offers top-tier expressions of the treasured Clos St-Jacques at more than reasonable prices. For Chardonnay fans, there's no scene more dynamic than Willamette Valley, and we've got the bead on the region's top boutique names to stack high and deep in the cellar. Read more.
