Sharp New Pricing on Irish Legends:
Old-Style Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey

Once a global rival to Scotch, Irish Whiskey was prized for its rich, peat-free character. However, the industry’s resistance to column distillation led to its near collapse by the 1970s. Thanks to the dedication of one man, this great tradition was not lost.

Barry Crockett, master distiller at the Old Midleton Plant, ensured that the new distillery preserved traditional whiskey-making alongside modern efficiencies. Within decades, Irish Whiskey surged in popularity once again. Yet only Midleton continues producing the original single pot still style that once made the Emerald Isle famous. Irish Whiskey remains one of the best buys in the world, dollar for dollar. Shop our in stock picks, or read more about the history of this generous spirit here.

History in the Making:
Incredibly Rare 48 & 49 Year Treasures

When the old distillery in Cork closed to usher in a new era of Irish whiskey, its historic plant—renowned for crafting some of the world's finest whiskies since 1825—was shuttered but not dismantled. Tucked away in a quiet corner, a few choice casks remained. Distilled by Max Crockett, the forefather of modern Irish whiskey, and carefully tended by his son and later masters, these casks were lost to time but never forgotten. Now, nearly 200 years after the distillery’s founding, the final casks from Old Midleton are being released in a landmark six-part series leading up to its bicentennial. Historic treasures, these mind-blowing releases exist in a world of their own.

Red-Headed Poet of Irish Whiskey: Writer’s Tears

The beloved Writer’s Tears brand has become a staple on our shelves, blending Irish Single Malt and Single Pot Still Whiskeys. The key distinction lies in the mash: Single Pot Still includes unmalted barley, while Single Malt is made exclusively from 100% malted barley. Walsh Whiskey was groundbreaking in building the first distillery to manually produce all three styles of Irish whiskey—Single Malt, Single Pot Still, and Grain—under one roof. Though Rosemary and Bernard Walsh have since divested from the distillery, they’ve retained their exceptional brands, continuing to craft high-quality, affordable Irish whiskey for the modern palate.
