New Releases from Three Rising Star Burgundy Domaines
2023 Domaine Parent: Consistently Great
The sister team of Anne and Catherine Parent are fashioning some stellar wines out of their unassuming winery in Pommard. I have already mentioned their fabulous duo of Bourgogne Rouge, but they have exceptional wines that climb the price ladder as well. They have an outstanding roster of wines from both Pommard and Corton appellations.
2023 Domaine Parent Pommard "La Croix Blanche" $99.99 90-92VN 88-91BH 88-90JM Across from the vineyard Grand Epenots, this is always a wonderful entry-level Pommard. All about the purple fruit and spice.

2023 Domaine Bart & The Art of Marsannay
Marsannay was once the epicenter of Burgundy thanks to its proximity to Dijon and easy transportation to Paris. One of the most Northern appellations, it originally produced rosés and was known for making high-toned red Burgundies thanks to its cooler climate. Climate change and an influx of next-generation winemakers have given Marsannay renewed vigor. With the impending 1er Cru status about to be bestowed upon them, things are looking up!
Domaine Bart came from the division of the Clair Daü winery; half went to Bruno Clair and the other half to Domaine Bart. Pierre Bart runs the domaine and is crafting excellent wines that tell the story of the many vineyards of Marsannay. I adore these wines, and always look forward to my visit here. I get guided through about 10 to 12 Marsannay vineyards and always leave with a good idea of what the vintage has to offer. The 2023s were fabulous when I visited and represent some of the best values Burgundy has to offer.
These wines are all in small supply, so don’t delay!!
2023 Domaine Bart Marsannay Rouge $29.99 Instead of grabbing a Bourgogne Rouge from a producer why not grab this wonderful bottle of village Marsannay for the same price. Crisp with wonderful floral notes and red cherry fruit, this is a great introduction to the house style of Domaine Bart.
2023 Domaine Bart Marsannay Rouge "La Montagne" $39.99 89-91JM 87-90BH
2023 Domaine Bart Marsannay Rouge "Les Saint Jacques" $39.99 88-91BH 89-90BH
2023 Domaine Bart Marsannay Rouge "Champs Salomon" $49.99 90-92JM 89-92BH One of my favorite vineyard sites in Marsannay, it really should become a 1er Cru. This wine has wonderful depth and structure with dark berry fruit and spice.
2023 Domaine Bart Marsannay Rouge "Clos du Roy" $49.99 91-93JM 90-92BH Along with the Champs Salomon this is my favorite wine. Always powerful and loaded with dark fruit this is a great bottle of Red Burgundy!
