A New Member of Our Chablis DI Portfolio
We are always searching for new producers to import directly, but they have to pass our high standards at K&L to make the cut for our shelves. Fortunately for all of us Chablis lovers, Robert Goulley aced the exam. Made by the folks at Domaine Gueguen, these wines are essentially the exact same juice they put in the domaine bottlings but under a different label. The estate is run by the husband-and-wife team of Frédéric and Céline Gueguen, who established the domaine in 2013 and create organically farmed wines that speak to their respective terroir. A Deep Dive Into Burgundy Value
Due to a perfect storm of several factors, prices for Burgundy have skyrocketed. So what's a Burgundy fanatic to do? Draw lessons from history, of course—specifically the Bordeaux market since 2009 and 2010. The big names can fetch higher prices, so look under the radar. Luckily for Burgundy, many of the lesser-known appellations have been making huge improvements in quality over the last 10+ years, and I’ve been travelling to these regions each year to find the hidden gems.
