The 2019 Le Cinciole "Aluigi - Campo ai Peri" Gran Selezione Chianti Classico $49.99 96VN is the pure definition of Sangiovese: aromatically pure, radiant, and saturated—the nose is something you can get lost in before even putting it in your mouth. Once the wine hits your palate it explodes into a profusely, exaggerated flow of flavor. Layered, swirling, the wildly exciting Marasca cherry flavors are your palate’s focus while hints of dried Tuscan herbs leave a complex back end. The wine is alive; its energy lifts it off your palate driving a long, vibrant finish. This wine is sensational and worth every penny. It will give you a completely different concept of Chianti Classico.
The 2019 Le Cinciole "Petresco" Colli della Toscana Centrale IGT $59.99 97VN is a Super Tuscan—an all-Sangiovese powerhouse. This wine is amazing. The nose is brooding, deeply complex, with dark clouds of dried plum and wild cherry aromas. When it hits your palate the word blockbuster comes to mind—bold, powerful, extraordinarily young, muscular, and exciting. This is a monumental wine and will need lots of air and lots of patience but OMG it has a depth one doesn’t see very often in wines from Chianti Classico. It is stunning. I’m so happy to have these wines in our selection once again.
