Domaine Marc Morey: Classic Chassagne-Montrachet at Its Finest
Chassagne-Montrachet.
Domaine Marc Morey is one of the finest producers in Chassagne-Montrachet and one of the best values in Côte de Beaune white Burgundy—and K&L has just received fresh allocations of both the 2022 and 2023 vintages, spanning $59.99 Rully 1er Cru to Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru.
Domaine Marc Morey is always one of the highlights of my annual trips to Burgundy. Tucked away in the heart of Chassagne-Montrachet, this small family estate has quietly established itself as one of the appellation's finest producers under the thoughtful direction of the immensely talented—and wonderfully humble—Sabine Mollard.
The wines perfectly reflect both the domaine and the woman behind them: understated, elegant, and uncompromisingly classic. Crafted with precision and restraint, they emphasize purity, balance, and terroir over power, resulting in beautifully structured white Burgundies that reward both early enjoyment and extended cellaring. While the estate's flagship wine remains the magnificent Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru En Virondot, the entire range consistently delivers outstanding quality and some of the best value to be found in the Côte de Beaune.
We're thrilled to have just received fresh allocations of both the outstanding 2022 and 2023 vintages. Quantities are always limited, and given the domaine's loyal following, these wines rarely remain available for long.

FAQs
Is Marc Morey related to the other Morey domaines in Chassagne?
Yes—the Moreys are one of Chassagne-Montrachet's great winemaking families, and several estates carry the name, including Domaine Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey and Domaine Thomas Morey. Domaine Marc Morey descends from the estate founded by Marc Morey in the early 20th century and remains family-run today.
What's the difference between Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet?
Neighboring villages on the Côte de Beaune that share the Montrachet Grand Cru hillside. In broad strokes, Puligny tends toward tension, florality, and cut, while Chassagne leans slightly rounder and stonier—though producer style matters as much as village. This offering includes both, plus Bâtard-Montrachet, the Grand Cru that straddles the two.
Is Chassagne-Montrachet good value compared to other white Burgundy?
Village Chassagne-Montrachet from a top producer like Marc Morey ($89.99) costs a fraction of comparable Meursault or Puligny bottlings from equivalent estates, and the domaine's 1er Crus at $129.99–$149.99 are among the most affordable serious Premier Cru whites in the Côte de Beaune.
