The Mediterranean’s Most Famous Pink Wine Producing Region: Provence
Stretching along France’s sun-drenched Mediterranean coast, Provence is the epicenter of the world’s most iconic rosés. At its heart lies the famed Côtes de Provence, flanked by its satellite appellations Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence and Coteaux Varois en Provence. When global demand for Provence rosé soared, these additional zones expanded access to high-quality wines from across the region. From mountain-framed vineyards to breezy seaside villages, each subregion delivers its own expression of the classic Provençal style.
Beyond these appellations, two other coastal zones—Bandol and Cassis—craft some of Provence’s most distinctive and sought-after wines. Bandol is the crown jewel of Provence, a sun-drenched appellation where Mourvèdre reigns supreme. Clay and limestone soils, combined with cooling Mistral breezes, create ideal conditions for producing structured, age-worthy reds of remarkable depth and complexity. In recent decades, Bandol has also become a benchmark for serious rosé—wines with uncommon texture, persistence, and finesse. With their concentration and structure, Bandol rosés age beautifully, gaining nuance and depth over time.
The seaside village of Cassis is one of southern France’s most breathtaking destinations, and its wines capture that magic in the glass. Cassis sits between the famed Calanques—a series of limestone cliffs partially submerged by the Mediterranean—on its western side, and the Cap Canaille—a massive limestone-and-sandstone monolith—on its eastern side. In between, limestone soils form a natural amphitheater, soaking up the Mediterranean sun while cool ocean breezes bring lift, freshness, and that signature salinity. With its contoured vineyards and shimmering azure waters, the wines of Cassis reflect the beauty and harmony of this place in every sip.
From the delicate and refreshing to the structured and complex, we’ve selected standout rosés from every corner of Provence to keep your glass full all summer long—and well beyond.

PROVENCE
2024 Château Les Valentines "Le Caprice de Clémentine" Côtes de Provence Rosé $17.99
In the Côtes de Provence, the La Londe-les-Maures sub-appellation hugs the coastline, drawing in salty breezes that leave a subtle, savory stamp on its wines. Just minutes from the renowned Clos Mireille of Domaines Ott, Château Les Valentines has been organically farmed by Gilles and Pascal Pons since 1997. Their “Caprice de Clémentine,” named for their daughter, blends Grenache and Cinsault into a dry, vibrant rosé layered with wild strawberry, grapefruit, and coastal herbs—a standout value from one of Provence’s most prestigious neighborhoods.
2024 Domaine Jacourette Côtes de Provence Sainte-Victoire Rosé $19.99
East of Aix-en-Provence lies the Montagne Sainte-Victoire sub-appellation. Here, vigneron Hélène Dragon tends vines at 300 meters in decomposed limestone and clay—soils prized for their elegance and minerality. For more than 20 years, she has crafted one of our most sought-after rosés, brimming with fresh-cut apple, wet stone, with a subtle note of herbs de Provence. This is quintessential Provençal rosé—pure, mineral-driven, and classically styled.
BANDOL
2024 Domaine Gros ’Noré Bandol Rosé $36.99
One of the jewels of the Kermit Lynch portfolio, Alain Pascal crafts bold reds and finely structured rosés from his Bandol estate. This blend of Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Grenache, and a touch of Clairette shows pale salmon color but bursts with pamplemousse, Seascape strawberries, wet stone, and honeydew. Beautiful now, it will continue to evolve through next year.
2024 Château Pradeaux Bandol Rosé $26.99 93WA (750ml)
2024 Château Pradeaux Bandol Rosé $56.99 93WA (1.5L)
Tempier may be the Bandol name everyone knows, but Pradeaux is right there with it. A deeper-colored, more powerful style that’s not shy on flavor—wild raspberry, white peach, and redcurrant all in a silky frame. Great now, but worth grabbing extras to see how it develops.
CASSIS
2024 Domaine du Bagnol Cassis Rosé $26.99 (750ml)
2024 Domaine du Bagnol Cassis Rosé $56.99 (1.5L)
Peach, apricot, and strawberry lead the way, with a lift of grapefruit pith and a delicate salinity that speaks of the sea. Every year, this wine ranks among my favorite rosés in the world—and this vintage is no exception. Fresh, textural, and irresistibly drinkable, it’s Cassis in a glass.
