Sometimes it’s simply kismet. Our latest private-label release is a collaboration with the famed Chablis producer La Chablisienne. K&L has worked closely with La Chablisienne for many years, and when the opportunity arose to create a private label together, we jumped at the chance. Adding to the magic is the timing: the 2023 vintage commemorates La Chablisienne’s 100th anniversary, while its release in 2026 coincides with K&L Wine Merchants’ 50th anniversary.
Read MoreThe end of the year is often when some of the best bottles get opened, and January is when the cellar shows the impact. This selection of old and rare wines and spirits is designed to restock cellars with bottles chosen for how they age, not just how they impress on release, including mature classics, proven benchmarks, and younger wines with decades ahead of them. You will find fully mature icons alongside bottles selected for long-term aging. For collectors looking beyond current inventory, our wine auctions and spirits auctions remain two of the strongest sources for rare, older bottles and singular releases that rarely reappear once they are gone.

Below is a focused selection of our essential bottles for welcoming 2026, drawing from Champagne, Spain, Italy, and standout domestic producers. These are the wines we trust completely, stock by the case, and reach for ourselves whenever celebration calls (often well before the clock strikes midnight).
Read MoreOur selection of fantastic Domestic Sparkling wines continues to grow from strength to strength and as we approach 2026 we have over 70 options in stock. So, what to choose? Well we have the classics: Roederer Estate, Schramberg, J Vineyards. But we also have a beautiful selection of small production sparkling wines that are very much following the boutique, Grower Champagne type model with unwavering focus on quality, complexity and expression terroir. So, as we get ready to ring in another new year (my 15th here at K&L) I decided to highlight a few very special wines that are on my short list for popping when the ball drops (likely at NY time)! Wishing you all a wonderful New Year and health and happiness for 2026 and beyond! Cheers!
Read MoreThe quality arising from small, family-owned wineries in the Cava DO has never been better. These are wines made in the traditional method, aged just as long (if not longer) than Champagne, and offered at incredibly reasonable prices. If you haven’t had Cava in a while–or tried a Corpinnat–here are my top selections that will probably surprise you with just how good they are.
Read MoreThere is a misconception that Italian sparkling wine begins and ends with simple Prosecco. But if you dig just a little deeper, you realize that Italy is actually one of the most dynamic sparkling wine nations on earth. We have the "Grand Crus" of Valdobbiadene, the serious Metodo Classico of Lombardy, the savory fizz of Emilia, and even volcanic bubbles from the slopes of Etna.
Read MoreNo occasion is more synonymous with Champagne than New Year’s Eve, and I have some great recommendations to ring in 2026. I have often said, there are 364 great nights to go out, and one great night to stay in and drink Champagne—the 31st of December is a great night to stay off the streets!

Read MoreThe holidays ask a lot of what’s in your glass. Wines need to welcome guests, carry meals, and hold their own long after the plates are cleared. This guide reflects our aapproach to seasonal pairings, moving from sparkling wines that start the evening right, to whites and reds that complement the table with ease, and finishing with Scotch that’s meant for lingering conversations. Each section highlights bottles we trust for holiday meals with a focus on versatility, balance, and value.
Read MoreTo approach Ischia by sea is to witness a paradox: a lush, verdant island that rises violently from the Bay of Naples, its beauty born from the fire of ancient volcanoes. Known as the "Green Island," Ischia is famous worldwide for its thermal spas and holiday resorts, but for the true wine lover, it is hallowed ground—a place where winemaking is less an agricultural endeavor and more an act of extreme mountaineering.
Read MoreBordeaux grapes have traveled farther, and adapted more brilliantly, than any varieties in the world. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Petit Verdot, and Sauvignon Blanc have taken root in new landscapes, absorbing local character while retaining the structure and poise that define their origins. This month, we look at how these grapes express themselves from the Gironde to the Andes, from Napa Valley to the Tuscan coast, and beyond. Along the way, our buyers highlight the benchmark wines, the unexpected values, and the producers shaping the next generation of Bordeaux-inspired winemaking.
