MICHEL LORIOT
Michel Loriot is the current president of the independent vignerons association in Champagne and a true pinot meunier specialist. Many of his wines are powered by the savory flavor of the "other pinot", and he's a big believer in long-aged the varietal on the lees to create richness. With only seven hectares of estate-owned vines Loriot is one of the smallest producers we work with directly. Also a bit of an eccentric, Michel loves to play music for his both vines and wines, with speakers installed in both his vineyards and the cellars to help stimulate the fruit during its various stages. His wines are often rich and toasty, yet with some of the lowest levels of added sugar we see in our selection here at K&L.
